We need to make sure that we do plan for an emergency, particularly when working at height. There are quite a range of different equipment that we can purchase that requires training, but will help to get someone down if they are injured and require to be removed pretty immediately. Let us look at an example of an emergency rescue. Maybe somebody is using a tray picker, for example. The boom has stopped working, not operating, and we need to get the person down. There should be an opportunity to stop the engine with a button, and then be able to press a button that allows the whole thing to come back down again. If not, it may be you need to use a handle that actually pumps and allows the boom to come down. But whatever the case, an emergency rescue plan has to be written for anybody who is working at height.
